Research and Training Center
for Information Technologies and Systems (IRTC),
created under the auspices of Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ministry of Education
and Science of Ukraine,
has been advancing traditions
of academic education and research.

Four main directions of the IRTC research include
- Theory and applications of intelligent information technologies in pattern recognition, knowledge interpretation, and processing of complex signals;
- Control theory and its application in robotics, ecology, navigation, industrial processes;
- Information technologies for bio-medical applications and telemedicine;
- Theoretical foundations for e-learning, learning technologies and environments.
IRTC takes part in implementation of national research programs in intelligent information technologies, actively collaborates with industrial and University research laboratories in Ukraine and abroad. Technical committee on standards in information technologies (IT) hosted by IRTC provides input to and supports implementation of the national policy in IT, evaluates and harmonizes international and regional standards, develops national standards in IT.
IRTC has been appointed a national coordinator of the intergovernmental UNESCO program “Information for all”.
